By their very nature, these extremely realistic dolls have become highly sought after for their intrinsic value and their characteristics. Their similarity in human features and in human size has also been responsible for the drive to collect them. A majority of the Ashton Drake Dolls that are sold online are marketed as toys not meant for small children. They are designed to be displayed, not played with. Furthermore, many of these dolls are marketed as dolls 'for the child in you,' and many of the websites that feature these dolls have an outlet where dolls are sold in a manner congruent to a hospital discharging a newborn baby.
