If you decide to recreate your own child, remember to send a few pictures of your child as a baby to the doll creator. It will be easier for them to produce a product when they can visually see what they are trying to create. Each handmade reborn takes hours to construct. They are taken apart, stripped of any manufacturers paint, and then repainted with special paints.
Many techniques and colors are used to give the doll a life-like appearance. Each strand of hair is sewn in by hand using either actual human hair or mohair. Because of the special paints and small pieces, reborns are not for children to play with. They pose many dangers to a young child and therefore should be displayed out of reach for child safety.
